INSIGHT
We all know that bandage brands are not well known for having the best packaging design at the pharmacies. Usually, they are presented with fundamental and not interesting designs that, most of the time, don’t captivate the customer’s attention. With this project, I wanted to change that vision.
GOAL
This project aimed to design a more interesting and modern packaging for a brand of bandages called Band-Aid.It was essential for me to preserve the feeling of safety that bandage packagings evoke. At the same time, I wanted to represent this feeling in a more creative and more artistic approach.
OUTCOMETaking into consideration each bandage product, strips, gauzes, and tapes, I came up with different textures created by the effects of Cyanotype paper. Each container has its correspondent texture indicating the kind of bandage within it. The various tints of blue evoke a sense of trust and calmness, which are two other emotions that enhance the effectiveness and reliability of the product. Obtaining these textures was very challenging, but in the end, worth it. The visuals on these packaging are very original and just very interesting to look at.
